Launch of online e-commerce shop
The last ten years has seen steady growth for Green Magic Co. In the last two years we have built a new warehouse and considerably extended our product range. Our entry into internet trading has been a long time in the planning and now we have launched both this website and our full e-commerce site as a further strategic expansion.
Our valued customers
Our original garden retail customers are still a vital part of our business. We are unique in having such a comprehensive and focussed range of products targeted at garden centres and retail nurseries. This website serves to support and underline that activity but we still produce a printed catalogue as we know our regular customers like to keep a copy to hand. At this time many of our more specialised products cannot be purchased online although we obviously welcome orders by email, fax and phone.
Our non-garden centre customer base has been growing since the nineties and we now actively serve many other sectors. We also supply many sign companies and large format printers with our products for resale to their own customers. Clearly, in today's world, the internet has become an essential additional channel to the wider business and public sector community. We have therefore launched an e-commerce online shop at www.sign-holders.co.uk which has a more general focus than this site.
Our sales continue to grow and we now supply large quantities of aluminium poster frames to the sign trade, to major brands and public sector organisations. This is in addition to the many thousands of low cost plastic poster frames which we now supply annually. However we are still a small business and happy to provide a very personal standard of service and to offer knowledgeable advice willingly - often telling people about a cheaper product if it adequately satisfies their current need.
We have earned the loyalty of our customers by gaining their trust.
Does your face fit?
We are planning to recruit in 2008 and while we haven't yet dreamed up a job title and description we know we need to find someone (M or F) who can bring their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to help us further develop our business (located near Southampton).
While sales will be an important part of the job, the truth about working here is that we all can (and do) cover each other's jobs at present. We think it's valuable in a small business that the warehouse assistant can speak to a customer and that the boss can pack orders if the need arises. Computer literacy, good communication skills (spoken and written) and a pleasant personality should be regarded as basic essentials - additional skills will be what singles you out as the person we can't do without.
